Born Ruffians - Birthmarks - (Yep Roc)
I donít even know where to start with this band. Theyíre like vocal poetry. A good idea of their state of mind would be where they held band practices, on a farm instead of a rehearsal space, claiming they felt more comfortable with the isolation and freedom to play as loud as they wanted. Their songs are about the simple life, chopping wood, and cooking family dinners. Theyíll make you think about your existence and youíll realize itís wonderful to just be alive.

Wax Idols - Discipline + Desire - (Slumberland)
This 4 piece band from California is back with a darker album than their 2011 album No Future. Lots of 80ís inspired new wave sounds. So put on your black lipstick and letís have a tea party!

Bleached - Ride Your Heart - (Dead Oceans)
Consisting of former members of Mika Miko, The Clavin sisters put out this sweet album filled with lots of reverb and bubblegum guitar pop. Also, theyíre from LA...The San Ferando Valley to be exact, which is super cool and represent it well. Itíll make you want to join a girl band and sing about waiting by the telephone for your crush to call.

Cab 20 - Holy Denim Faded Vibrations - (Mock)
Itís garage punk with less muffled vocals and more fuzzy instrumentation. Super appropriate for pre-gaming before a bonfire night with people you arenít really close with.

Colleen Green - Sock It To Me - (Hardly Art)
Okay, this chick is the definition of cool. Solo act, playing guitar and singing at the same time with set electronic drum machine beats. She takes being sad to a whole new level. Her lyrics are simple and make being alone something that isnít as bad as you think. Also, the album cover has donuts on it, which is pretty much the perfect food to munch on while listening to it and feeling bad for yourself.

White Fence - Cyclops Reap - (Castle Face)
Tim Presley, having worked with Ty Segall and having his album put out on John Dwyerís label is enough info to hook me. But if you arenít sold yet, itís fuzzy psychedelic rock Ďn roll that will make your brain fizz like only the most expensive carbonated water can.

Ty Segall and Mikal Cronin - Reverse Shark Attack - (In The Red)
Weíve got the LP in our station already, but now we have the cd, too! Itís fuzzy garage pop punk that will leave you confused of what they are singing about because itís so hard to understand, but will leave you not caring because the fuzzy guitars will make your body feel warm. Itíll do to your ears what coffee does to your soul.

Telekinesis - Dormarion - (Merge)
Itís melancholic guitar music that has relatable lyrics with folk undertones and a rock n roll edge.

Crime and The City Solution - American Twilight - (Mute)
Itís an explosion of goodness with post punk influences and rockabilly undertones.

Wire - Change Becomes Us - (Pink Flag)
This post punk band has gathered songs from their early days that were ever recorded live or as demos, and created this echoing and spine chilling album.

Son of Rogues Gallery - Pirate Ballads, Sea Songs, and Chanteys - (Anti-)
This compilation has some indie folk gems in it, but beware of the B-Play artists. (I trust that you wonít play the mainstream on the air.)

Broadheds - Broadheds - (Dangerbird)
Itís an eclectic twist with a saxophone that will blow you away. Itís the guitar music you would listen to while bar hopping in Key West.

Milk Music - Cruise Your Illusion - (Possum)
Electrifying rock Ďn roll goodness that will make you feel the same way a hot cinnamon roll would make you feel...

Generationals - Heza - (Polyvinyl)
Itís folky rock with some electronic sprouts that will make you want to go raw vegan and buy a new mattress.

The Veils - Time Stays, We Go Ė (Pitch Beast)
Itís melodramatic indie folk pop that sing about love, death, and time.
